Dear 2020 graduating class of The British School of Kosovo,
Today is an important day for all of us, it is the last day of your upper secondary education. It is the day when, under normal circumstances, you would be saying goodbye to the school, your homeroom teacher, and the teachers with whom you spent these three years. Three years which will leave memorable traces throughout your life.
The last day of high school is not a small thing. It is a time when you welcome your future, a future that we, you, and of course your parents have tried to contribute to.
Today, as has become our tradition at The British School of Kosovo, you would listen to music at school; you would endlessly laugh at the memories you experienced in school benches; you would receive endless congratulations from friends, teachers, parents. But this year is different from the others! We never thought we would mark the last day of school virtually through a small screen.
But you, the 2020 generation of The British School of Kosovo, are really very special and perhaps more special than the graduates who preceded you and those who will come after you; more is expected of you.
As you took your steps toward adulthood, you realized more than any other graduating generation the absolute importance of the necessity to prepare for extraordinary and unexpected things. Above all, you will know how to appreciate life and understand how precious life is; how to embrace it, and enjoy it.
But this year, regardless of the challenges it caused us to experience, it does not stop us at all to mark this important day properly, through this activity during which you will reveal your words, thoughts, experiences, emotions in front of us.
Out of our great desire to meet again these days we are not calling you graduates just yet. Dear students, at the very end, remember that the hope and desire of all of us for you are to make us proud of your achievements and successes.
